BECOME A MANIFESTO SAVANT
Great manifestos help sell your work, and win new business pitches, so mastering them dramatically increases your value to brands and agencies. In this 1 hour and 22-minute masterclass, Jason Bagley and Brock Kirby break down what makes a great manifesto, and a step-by-step process for how to become a manifesto savant.
"If you write a bad manifesto to set-up your good work. The worst thing that could happen is not that the good work dies. It’s that they love your bad manifesto, and you end up making only that."
-Brock Kirby

Brock Kirby
Brock was born to a night club DJ and an OB nurse. Conceived entirely on accident, he arrived in a world not ready for a child. And thus he spent his formative years strapped into the carseat of a red 1984 RX-7. He spent many early nights playing Pac Man and doodling in the back of the Cattle Company Night Club as his father spun Bell Biv Devoe records.
His responsible, hard working mother taught him hard work and responsibility. While his father let him watch Freddy Krueger and Predator and Meatballs at a ludicrously young age. This early exposure to R-rated cinema undoubtedly contributed to chronic bed wetting. Smelling of urine and shame Brock began writing and reading a lot.
He had his first brush with the fame and fortune writing could bring at the age of 8, winning a poetry contest for public radio. He continued writing through his teen years, churning out a humor column for his high school newspaper. From there he attended the University of Oregon, majoring in Advertising. He went on to work on new business at JWT New York for the first two years out of college and somehow survived that near career death sentence to work at WK PDX. There, he worked on the Nike account.
For the last seven years he’s freelanced for a multitude of agencies and clients, including W+K PDX/NYC, 72andSunny, Mother, Alto, Squarespace, Apple and Google. He’s won lots of awards so if you’re the kind of person who cares about that kind of thing, you’ll probably get along. He hates awards, so if you’re the person that hates that kind of thing, you’ll probably get along. He no longer wets the bed.

Before leading the office, Jason helped transform the outdated Old Spice brand into the category’s definitive leader, creating some of the most popular advertising campaigns in history.
